And some of the others are:
1. that we get to explore how more than two people can have a conversation at once,
2. that I get to look forward to checking this blog for notes from you guys about 6 times a day,
3. that we know that somehow all of our interests are going to go together to make one big happy thing,
4. that we get to do stuff like name new months.

I vote we start out with "Xuanucherry"

Sorry you guys, I know that isn't related to our immediate purpose here but now that I've had my diversion I am all better.

For every
2 years there are
27 (3^3) months and
729 (3^6) days.

A simple calendar would have the following divisions:

A two year "double revolution" (of the earth around the sun) divided into
3 "semi-revolutions" of 2/3 years each (243 days), each with
3 "seasons" of 2/9 years each (81 days), each with
3 "months" of 2/27 years each (27 days), each with
3 "phases" of 2/81 years each (9 days), each with
3 "weeks" of 2/243 years each (3 days), each with
3 "days" of 2/729 years (1 day) each.
A "century" would have 18 years
A "decade" would have 6 years

If the year 2000 is "year 0," then March 3, 2004 is

eighteenyear1
sixyear1
twoyear3
year1
season1
month3
phase1
week3
day2

or 113, 113, 132
or Red-Red-Blue, Red-Red-Blue, Red-Blue-Yellow
or Birth-Birth-Death, Birth-Birth-Death, Birth-Death-Sex

Here's my new calendar in base three. A date in this calendar has 9 places. This 9 place number represents a "millinium" of 18 traditional years. The 9 places represent the number of periods that have passed since an agreed-on date like the year 2000. A millinium in this callendar will last 18 traditional years (2x(3^2)), a century - 6 trad years (2x3), a decade - 2 trad years, a "new year" - 2/3 of a trad year, a season - 2/9 of a trad year, a month - 2/27 of a trad year, a phase - 2/81 of a trad year, a week - 2/243 of a trad year, and a day - 2/729 of a trad year. Two traditional years = three "new years" = 9 "seasons" = 27 "months" = 81 "phases" = 243 "weeks" = 729 "days," all divided into groups of 3. The three seasons, months, days etc. could get 3 colors, red, yellow and blue or numbers, 1,2, and 3, or concepts, birth, sex, death. The days could be "Birthday," "Sexday" and "DeathDay," or "Sunday," "Earthday" and "Moonday. " Taking the year 2000 as year 0, March 3, 2004 would be the the second day of the third week of the first phase of the third month of the first season of the first year of the third two-year of the first-six year of the first 18-year, or 231 311 113 which would probably make more sense like this: 113, 311, 231, or birth-birth-death, death-birth-birth, sex-death-birth, or sun-sun-moon, moon-sun-sun, earth-moon-sun.

So if the ratio of the apparent rotations of the Sun-Earth-Moon-system, the Moon-Sun-Earth-system, and the Earth-Moon-Sun-system is 729 to 27 to 2, then shouldn't we be able to come up with a calendar that's a lot simpler than the one we have? There must be some way to display 729 so that you can understand it as a function of 2, 3, 4, 9, 16, 27, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and 729.

I've been looking all over Booble for any mention of the calendar or the 2 to 27 to 729 ratio but I haven't found anything. I think there must have been some confusion. I was wishing that Ben could fudge the numbers for me so I could get a date -- as in calendar date -- not date as in the kind of date that keep popping up from under my task bar now that I've spent two days on Booble. I keep making dates with friends like Lisa and then not showing up for them because I "was thinking about something else" or I "forgot," when the truth is that I was conflicted about that person. Lisa isn't an individual to me as much as she is an archetype or a color inf a spectrum that I use to understand any situation I am in. That's why Wired is so confusing -- because all those symbols in so many configuation are bound to bring out conflicts between archetypes in your head. Time and calandars are wrong and airplanes are wrong and language is wrong and I'm conflicted about whether I should learn to lie about it or try to arrange enough dates that I don't show up for so that the pain that I feel when someone expresses their dissappointment in me works as a system of gravitational slingshots that might be able to fling me out to the levels of selfconfidence I will need to be able to refrain from cowering and grovelling for forgiveness infront of an entire committee of adults who have been hand picked for their ability to give up all hope and become adults, when they tell me over and over again with their tone of voice that "Everybody Knows" that the calendar is right, airplanes are great and language is what the cool people do. Wow, all of the sudden I feel sorry for my parents who sent me to library school...

Cherry wrote: Honestly, Patrick. Stop being so modest....

I'm sorry, that was a horribly immodest last post written at the end of a lonely Saturday night and I promise never again to fish for sympathy in such a pathetic and unsuccessful manner. I don't just want any chick anyway, I want all the chicks. Every chick shall not just strip off their pretenses infront of me but shall unravel the very tapestry of their continued subtrafuge that they can stop themselves from piling on top of me until I suffocate in breasts.

My Chemistry teacher in 10th grade -- the one who gave me a 20 after the first quarter and told me there was no way I could pass for the year so I might as well give up -- was named Mrs. KEY -- I just realized that the other day. Is someone making my life up just to entertain me? Mrs. "Key". Cheezus. Well I solved the periodic table the other day, just before I thought for the first time about Mrs. Key in about 20 years -- Hydroden is really 2 for some reason -- not only becuase that makes Helium (Mary's old band) 3 which is such a cool number, but also because that makes Oxygen 9 or 3^2 and Iron 27 or 3^3, and humans, which are the cutting edge of complexity, use iron as a magnet to carry oxygen from the lungs to the muscles (why am I saying "the" if I'm an a-"the"-ist?).

That is a beautiful Ash Wednesday smiley: +%^D. It could be a Charles Manson smiley too. Or a chick with a "chick symbol" hat on. The Davinci Code had something in it abouit that square cross that comes of the Venus symbol, I can't remember exactly what. That would be a cool girl-nerd hat -- a propellor beenie with an extra long propellor axle and a half-bowl beenie so it was like the top half of the venus symbol.

I read that Wired -- or was mezmerized for 45 minutes by it, until such a time as I realized I was late to meet Lisa. When I called her she said she was too tired to go out (Lisa is especially sensative to people showing up late for appointments because she understands that accidents never happen in a perfect world) and it made me feel like shit for standing her up. So I thought about it as the flourescent pink and chartreusse design-wreck faded from my vision and I got really mad and I couldn't tell exactly what I was mad at -- it wasn't Lisa because I stood her up, it wasn't me because I couldn't be mad at myself -- I was mad at something I did -- get lost in Wired -- and then I realized that the Wired, (like a big toe that hurts for a reason when you stub it -- to get your attention) was drawing my attention to the fact that it had drawn my attention away from Lisa and made me miss an appointment I wanted to keep, and that the only way it could do this was if I was not myself when I was reading it. So I thought maybe I should just forget Lisa and go out dancing by myself, and that felt pretty good, to think that I could just forget about Lisa and everything would be better. But then I thought that by forgetting about Lisa I would not actually be erasing her, I would just be burrying her in my subconscious and that I would be using whatever part of myself knowing Lisa has taught me to use, to treat stuff in my new situation that I was just not consciously aware was taking the place of Lisa, like Lisa and get mad at it without knowing why. So I called Lisa back and got her to invite me over to her house so I could explain myself and ask for her forgiveness. So that Wired was a great teacher to me. Ever since reading it I am aware that there is a "Lisa" part of every situation I have ever been in or will ever be in, as is there a Cherry part and a Xuan part and a Ben part and a Mom and Dad part etc etc. and My goal is to know who each one is when I am hanging out with them. Inside that Wired it was so confusing that I was forced to conjure up almost every part of my personality that I had ever develped by knowing someone, and to mix them together by assigning them to the random squares of flourescent chartreusse and logarhithmic barcode markings. And ineveitably the random design put two of the parts of me in a relationship that I had not totally resolved and felt that I needed to hide from the Lisa part of me and so I forgot about Lisa.

By Sun-day I meant sidereal day or 23 hours and 56 minutes. By Moon-day I meant sidereal month or 27.3 "days" (of 24 hours or 23hrs 56min?). And by Earth-day I meant a year.

27x27 is 729 and 365.2422+365.2422 is 730.4844.
