The blue were vertical and the yellow were horizontal, on an off-white background -- so I had to swang my haps a little to get the effect. See my easy MSPaint interference patterns on my WEBPAGE
Thinking of your voice Cherry makes me realize that we don't need computers except to teach us how to think. Computers are kind of like no-nonsense babysitters. They suck at first but eventually you figure out the way they work and then you can do anything you want, without the babysitter ever knowing -- even if that means pulling the covers over your head and thinking an entire universe up. Cherry's laugh is in my head so well that I don't want to even hear it over the computer because the resolution would be so bad. Cherry's laugh is all about the crack in the middle -- where the fundamental changes to a harmonic. Cherry yodels in her laugh. Seriously. Once anyway. If you yodel really softly without trying to control when your voice jumps between the fundamental and the harmonic, or if you let it flutter back and forth between the two unevenly, you can hear distortion and everything Jimi Hendrix did with his guitar at Woodstock, and everything that's in David Lee Roth's voice and Tarzan's yell and Bob Marley's battle cry at the beginning of Crazy Bald Head. All that is in Cherry's laugh, once anyway. I mean Cherry's laugh cracks from fundamental to harmonic once if you really surprise her with something funny -- and if you were to record it at really high resolution and magnify it and slow it down you could hear anything you wanted to, once. But with a "computer" version of Cherry's voice you could never get a high enough resolution to be very interesting. At least not for a few more years, and by that time we will all have learned how to live without computers, by leting them teach us how to think.
May I ramble aimlessly? Please? You know how the best idea if something goes wrong in your browser is usually to close down the browser and open it back up? And if that doesn't work, turn the computer off and on again? That rule of backing up and starting over from the most recent convenient branch off, until you find one that works, is how computers teach you to think. Computers don't take shortcuts very gleefully the way we do. Our job is to learn to think like computers and then to take shortcuts. So once you know how to think through a problem going down the logic tree and backing up a little every time you run into a problem and trying it over again, then you speed that process up and manage it like the dumb boss in Dilbert, by just sitting around and doing whatever you normally do but wanting to be pleased a lot, and not getting too excited even when your totally wrong. So when you are thinking through a problem and anything hurts (you sense something's wrong) just back up enough to push forward again and try the next choice until it hurts again. Wow, that's easy. So you can manage a really complicated process like thinking over bad memories from the very top just by twiddeling the roots of the thought process sort of the way you twiddle the point of a pencil between your thumb and forefinger and it does magnified things.
Anyway, I came to this conclusion the other night while I was "mentasticizing" in bed, which is what my friend Lisa calls giving yourself Traeger. To me it just means that I get really comfortable on the bed (spring mattress) and let my feet hang off the end and prop my head up with a rolled up towell and shake gently how ever I feel for hours at a time. They used to do this in Jim Jonestown in Guyana, which makes it kind of suspect, but let me tell you it works. If you're really gentle and you pay attention to your muscles you can shake harmonically and never get tired. It's like stretching in that slowly (over months of doing this) you can feel your fascia and nerves and whatever start to separate from the surrounding tissue that has grown into them where they have been folded up and not stretched out. So I do this all the time, concentrating on different areas of my body, and I am getting pretty good at looking like a total freak. Along with the health balls and all my other funny habbits this has given me a crazy undulating run which I just last week became brave or stupid enough to start using to get to the subway, to much amusment from passers by. Anyway, I figure what this kind of control is is a way of twiddeling a rope or a fiber so that the tip of it does the old "go until you hurt, back up and try the next turn, repeat" thing. So I've been going over all my feelings like this -- in my body and head. I reccommend it. Anyway, Cherry's laugh is one of those things that has a pattern of yes and nos that makes more sense at "analog" resolutions.
A propos of this, Cherry is the coolest person in the world.
Isn't it great when an equation ends so simply that its got to be right?

You guys are the greatest!
I have a shirt on with yellow and blue stripes so I running around really fast in hopes that someone compliments me on my green. I made the Cherry's Life game on a free game making software. I can't remember the name but I bet its on the game. I'll check when I get home. It lets you put your own voice. Sorry Cherry, I know the sound effects are kind of "Pat" for a game about Cherry. The next one will be better. Um Good Craic and... um... stuff... Cherry's the coolest... um Your cool. (kicks a pebble)
